SANITATION AND HEALTH
DRINKING WATER SUPPLY:
Sanitation in India continues due to inadequate, despite longstanding efforts of government at improving coverage. The level of investment for water and sanitation has been increased n 2000s.Many innovative approaches have been tested in India in 2000s.The government of Delhi decided that to provide 666liters of free water everyday to households with functioning of water meters from January 1st 2014.But the people still suffering from water problem everyday.
ENVIRONMENT:
As of 2003,it was estimated that only 27% of waste water is released, with remainder flowing into rivers and canals. Some areas will be getting excess water, who wastes it.Please don't waste water as it may be excess to you but many were not getting required water at least for their needs.
HEALTH IMPACT:
The lack of inadequate water and safe water has significant negative problems to health causing diarrhoea, which is being suffered by 10million people annually. The dismal working conditions of sewer workers are another concern.A survey of working condition of sewage workers in Delhi shown that most of them suffer from chronic diseases, allergies, skin disorders, headaches and eye infections.Millions of people suffer from preventable illness and die every year.Improving global access to clean drinking water and sanitation is one of the least expensive and most effective means to improve public health and save lives.
CATEGORIES OF WATER,SANITATION,HYGIENE RELATED DISEASES:
WATER BONE:This is caused by the ingestion of water contaminated by human or animal excreta or urine containing pathogenic bacteria, includes cholera, typhoid, amoebic dysentery, and other diarrhoea diseases.I t makes the human body weak and illness by drinking that water.
EXCRETA:Caused by direct or indirect contact of pathogens associated with excreta causing water bone diseases.
WATER STORAGE:Due to water storage contamination occurs that may during or after storage.,often because of poorly designed containers, open containers and due to improper hygiene and handling.
Diarrhoea diseases are the mostly occurring health problem in India due to non purified water and sanitation.Over 2.2 million deaths are occurring due to diarrhoea(unsanitary disposal of excreta mainly).
PREVENTION:
*Never excrete in open areas and cause pollution, which indirectly may cause illness to you and others due to unhygienic work done by you.
*Don't waste water when you are not needed,as many are suffering from its lack daily.
*Keep the country CLEAN and GREEN.
